Planning & Management (P & M) Wing – DIET

Introduction

The Planning & Management (P & M) Wing of the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) serves as the backbone for effective planning, coordination, and administration of educational programmes at the district level. This wing plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of various academic and training initiatives in elementary education.

The P & M Wing is responsible for preparing annual work plans, institutional development plans, and district-level educational strategies in alignment with state and national priorities. It works in close coordination with educational authorities, schools, and other DIET wings to ensure that programmes are executed efficiently and effectively.

A key function of this wing is the management of resources, including human resources, infrastructure, and finances. It ensures optimal utilization of available resources and supports the institution in maintaining transparency and accountability in all its operations.

The wing also undertakes data collection, analysis, and documentation related to educational indicators such as enrolment, retention, learning outcomes, and teacher performance. This data-driven approach helps in informed decision-making and policy planning, contributing to the overall improvement of the education system.

In addition, the P & M Wing is actively involved in monitoring and evaluation of various schemes and programmes. It conducts field visits, reviews progress, and provides feedback for continuous improvement. The wing also supports the organization of training programmes, workshops, and meetings by ensuring proper planning and logistical arrangements.

Aligned with the vision of the National Council for Teacher Education and state education departments, the P & M Wing strives to strengthen institutional effectiveness and promote quality education at the grassroots level.

In essence, the Planning & Management Wing of DIET acts as a strategic unit that ensures systematic planning, efficient management, and continuous improvement in the delivery of elementary education. Educational planning at district level
